Please notice an additional menu item, "Anadyr Blog". I've started a Wordpress blog with the idea that it is more easily updated with the little news items and some of the things I wish to comment on have no real place on the main website.

The goal remains the same with this website, document the past and present of this kennel. It is just not happening as quickly as one might wish.

When I was growing up, I never thought too much about the feet on the Siberians. I took it as a given that they were good. But even with a group that is adapted to the conditions of the North, you have differences. I've been lurking on a mailing list devoted to judging dogs according to the standard and the question of feet has arisen. I was inspired to step into the dog lot and take some pictures of feet. My model is a dog that has been on the race team for the  past four years and never had occasion to require any attention to his feet. No foot salve, no boots, just a lot of running through every kind of snow and water condition at extreme temperatures.

I bred Alaskan's Barents of Anadyr to Alaskan's Echo of Anadyr with high expectations. Three males and one female were a year old on August 11, 2007. As of this writing they've been in harness six times with a lifetime total of 16.5 miles. They are a wild and crazy bunch that will make you wear ear protectors but it's a pleasure to watch them move.

 Alaskan's Frigga of Anadyr whelped 5  pups on Wednesday, the 22rd of August 2007. She was either sensible or lazy as she had them in the house and not the dirt like the other two. The sire was a promising young male, Alaskan's Westley of Anadyr. Frigga is a veteran race dog. A 5 generation pedigree follows.
