CH Alaskan's Bonzo of Anadyr CD Alaskan Kennels is the only Siberian Husky kennel in the world which records a span of 60+ years. The goal in it's breeding program has been, from the first litter, dogs of correct type, which possess superior working ability, speed, and endurance. Anja's pups 2001
Earl Norris established the Alaskan Kennels iin the late 1930's in Orofino Idaho with stock purchased from Mike Cooney of Nenana, Alaska. I, Natalie Jubin Norris, bred Siberian Huskies in the 1930's in Lake Placid, New York from stock bred by Leonard Seppala and Harry Wheeler. The Wheeler kennel used the suffix "of Seppala" and dogs originally owned by Seppala and Elizabeth Ricker.
Earl and I were married in Alaska in 1947. We continued breeding Siberians, now AKC registered dogs. Chinook's Alladin of Alyeska (Seeley) was the foundation sire. The foundation females were from the Foxstand Kennel(Shearer) and Gatineau (McFaul).
Today, the kennel is managed by my son and daughter-in-law, John Norris and Kari Skogen. The goals remain the same. Anja's pups 2006 ONAC (Brenda Burge photo)
